Titanic Couple’s Gold Watch

New York — A rare Titanic artifact has set a new record at auction. The 18-carat gold pocket watch belonging to Isidor Straus, a first-class passenger who died in the Titanic tragedy, has been sold for £1.78 million (PKR 658.6 million). This is the highest price ever recorded for any Titanic memorabilia.

Isidor Straus and his wife Ida were immortalized in the 1997 film Titanic, in the emotional scene where the couple holds each other as the ship sinks.

Experts say the watch’s historical value, rarity, and the couple’s poignant love story contributed to the record-breaking auction price.
